Flint Hills Tourism Coalition

The Flint Hills Tourism Coalition is nearing a year of existance. It represents the tourism professionals of the 22 counties in the Flint Hills of Kansas. Liz Martell, of Emporia, is the Chair. Monthly meetings are held around the region on the third Friday of each month. The May meeting was in Alma, for example.

The web-site that was developed at ESU by Dr. Smith's "Entrepreneurship through AgriTourism" class in the Fall 2005 semester has been approved to be migrated to a new server to become the official web-site of the Flint Hills Tourism Coalition, as soon as branding and financing issues are settled, presumably in the next 30-60 days.

The Flint Hills Tourism Coalition works closely with Governor Sebelius and the Kansas Department of Commerce Travel and Tourism Division, Becky Blake, Director.
